Inspector Steve Trent (Ralph Bellamy) arrives at the Arnold mansion to speak with Edward Arnold, who fears he is about to be killed due to a family curse. Within minutes, Arnold does, in fact, mysteriously die. Trent discovers that Arnold was poisoned. Unfortunately, every other person in the mansion has the means and the motivation to murder this man. Through interviews and investigations, Trent is obliged to slowly piece together the killer's identity.
